The first step in disclosing your discovery – whether it is a patentable
invention, technique or know-how, a biological material or
another form of intellectual property – is to submit a complete Invention
Disclosure Form to the Office of Technology Development. Disclosures
should be sent both electronically and in hard copy to:

Lincoln, NE 68588-0467
Phone: 472-1783

Email:eurso2@unl.edu
Notes: Because incomplete forms can delay the
commercialization process, if you have questions or would like help completing
this form, contact OTD. We will do what we can to make this process as easy
as possible. Also, let us know if you anticipate publicly disclosing
your invention in the near future (in less than six months) or face other urgent
circumstances.
The Office of Technology Development will process the disclosure
by:
- Checking for completeness, including necessary signatures
- Logging the invention disclosure into the OTD database
- Assigning a unique docket ID number
- Verifying any related sponsor funding sources to help ensure the University’s compliance with the Bayh-Dole Act of 1980.
- Assigning a case manager who will be responsible for evaluation, marketing, and commercialization of the invention.
