Technology Development Faculty Forum Success


The Office of Technology Development recently held its first ever Faculty Forum on Tech Development at Wilderness Ridge Lodge from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2007. The forum was followed by a networking reception sponsored by the Nebraska Angels.

The day began with a continental breakfast buffet and presentation on "The Power of Invention." Opening remarks and welcome were delivered by Chancellor Harvey Perlman and Vice Chancellor of Research & Dean of Graduate Studies, Prem Paul. Associate Vice Chancellor of Technology Development, John Brasch, provided background information on the Office of Technology Development and reviewed the "Past, Present & Future" of OTD.

Attending faculty, staff and students were presented with a variety of additional topics and valuable information regarding technology transfer at the University of Nebraska, including:

Guest speaker, John Serbin, Chief Business Officer of iDiverse Inc. presented "The iDiverse Startup Experience;" and David Allen, Associate Vice President of Technology Transfer, University of Colorado presented the "Evolution of Technology Transfer at Research Universities."
